Frostwatch Vineyard & Winery is a small family owned operation committed to making high quality, hand crafted wines primarily from grapes grown in our Bennett Valley vineyard. Bennett Valley’s well drained benchland soils, early morning fog and cool marine breezes throughout the growing season create ideal conditions for growing exceptional cool climate varietals.

The goal of winegrowers Brett Raven and Diane Kleinecke is to produce powerful, fruit driven wines that are stylish, balanced and food friendly.   Frostwatch Vineyard & Winery produces crisp, complex structured whites - Chardonnay and Kismet - a proprietary blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. The red wines from Frostwatch, Merlot and beginning with the 2009 vintage Pinot Noir, are balanced, full flavored and accessible.

Brett is responsible for vineyard management and winemaking duties. A former San Francisco attorney, Brett is a “Rubber Boots” winemaker, who has honed is craft at Alderbrook Winery, Matanzas Creek Winery and most recently Ramey Wine Cellars.   Brett employs careful viticultural practices and winemaking protocols that blend the best of old world tradition with modern winemaking technique to produce Frostwatch wines. That said, it is perhaps his connection and intimate knowledge of the Frostwatch Vineyard sited on a rocky apron beneath Bennett Peak that allows him to create exceptional wines that reflect their cool climate origins and are true to a very unique corner of Sonoma County.
